Robert Brooks Doctor of Chiropractic

From a modest and simple background, Robert Brooks grew up just East of Tulsa, Oklahoma as an only child in the Brookshire Motel on Route 66, when it was a two-lane road from Chicago to Los Angeles.  He attended a country school, East Central where thirteen of the sixty-three who graduated in 1963 were still in the same class.

Graduating High School at age seventeen, on his way to pursue a career in mathematics, a chiropractor told him of the concept of the spinal misalignment limiting the fullness of life and its correction restoring life again.  This was enough to change career paths to a life of serving patients needs.

Graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic at twenty-four, Robert spent the early years of his career looking at and studying almost every way the misalignment of the spine could be detected and corrected.  The last thirty years of his practice he used the NUCCA procedure, a three-dimensional vectored analysis of the misalignments on before and after X-rays (taken immediately).  These corrections were able to fulfill his vision of the restoration of the fullness of life.

Fifty-four of his patients have become chiropractors, he has trained and coached fifty seven interns to prepare them for their own practices and he has personally cared for more than twenty-five thousand patients from Oklahoma, each of the fifty states and a number of foreign countries.

Service and Leadership

For contributions to the chiropractic profession, he has received honorary degrees from Life Chiropractic College and from Sherman College of Chiropractic.  He has served his alma mater Palmer College of Chiropractic in many capacities including Visiting Clinical Professor, the Philosophy Forum, a special Task Force to investigate the clinical education of a chiropractor, and virtually every office in the Palmer College of Chiropractic International Alumni Association including President and Chair of the Board.  He was honored with the coveted Alumnus of the Year in 1992.
Dr. Brooks has served in numerous capacities in the Chiropractic Association of Oklahoma, the Oklahoma Chiropractic Research Foundation, the Congress of Chiropractic State Associations and the International Chiropractors Association. He is past Chairman of the Board and a past president of the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association and is the past Chairman of the Board of the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Research Association (NUCCA.org) and the Upper Cervical Research Foundation (UCRF.org).  He was presented the Robert Brooks Service Award by NUCCA in 2011, is a fellow in the Palmer Academy of Chiropractors and became a Fellow in the International Chiropractic Association in 2015.  He serves on the board of the Upper Cervical Council of the International Chiropractors Association as the Chair and has participated in creation of a Diplomate program for Upper Cervical Chiropractic.  Dr. Brooks is a member of Delta Sigma Chi, a Chiropractic professional fraternity and has served from 2015 to present as the President of the Grand Council.

Coaching, Consulting and Training

Dr. Brooks has a seminar company, “Taking Care of People,” teaching chiropractors and chiropractic students communication and relationship skills to be able to create non-toxic environments to take care of people always acting in the patient’s best interest, with the intent of creating Lifetime chiropractic patients.  He facilitates and consults with chiropractors to develop office procedures and successful business practices and profound personal development as a way of opening to the fullness of the life experience.

Robert spent his last twenty years of patient care addressing more than the interference to the nervous system from spinal misalignments.  He has helped many people address and resolve what he now calls - “Issues in the Tissues.”

Identifying other ways life can be limited led to an understanding of an integration process of releasing emotional pain.  This process facilitates profound personal development, setting people free from destructive and addictive behaviors, relieving suffering physically, emotionally and mentally and clearing the way for living a more connected spiritual life.

Realizing the need to do his own personal work, he spent years in workshop after workshop, seminar after seminar, teacher after teacher in an attempt to bring up his own “issues” and to integrate the events of his life into a life more free and more consciousness.

From his own experience he realizes, some of our “issues” come from current life experiences, some come from our family and some come from the possibility of material brought into this lifetime in the soul.  Robert has become a councilor, coach and facilitator both personally and professionally for patients, students and doctors.  He willingly shares his own story during private sessions, workshops and classes as he helps others live a life of dignity, integrity and grace.

His life reflects his personal intent to be a student, a healer and a teacher, with dignity, integrity and grace.
